Abunai 2012: Gotta get down on Friday
Time to kick off our Abunai business with Friday's events.
MaxRobo was kind enough to set up the entire karaoke, so we didn't have to stress out about missing cables or looking for that extra mic to get everything up and running. Which was nice.
The first songs were added to the playlist at 8 PM and although requesting was a bit slow at first, the last couple of rounds took about 5 minutes to fill up.
And at the end of the night it was as simple as dropping the volume on everything and unplugging the screens, with everybody able to go to bed at a decent hour.
Coming tomorrow: The Karaoke Competition and any subsequent shenanigans.

Updates Updates
Hello everyone, Max Robo here.
Like the title said there has been some updates. I have updated the lyrics and the timecoded lyrics, it has been a while.
We also has make the Soramimi Tool compatible with Windows 7. To use this download the file (it is packed with 7-zip) and overwrite the original files. This should solve the problem with the tools.

A New Year
Hi Everyone,
Max Robo here, the Soramimi crew is wishing you a happy new year.
We finally have fixed the broken links (we were looking for some webspace to host them). So now you can download them again.
regards Max Robo

Soramimi @ Animecon 2010
Soramimi will be at Animecon 2010 in Netherlands, Almelo ones again.
There has been a little activity with new songs, but this should be speeded up at some point.
Sorry for the outdated updates on this blog page, we have all been very busy, so that's why I make a start again.
Also, we are working on a new frontend and backend system for karaoke timing maintenance on our side.
With this system, we can maintain song timing requests and such, as also in uploading lyrics for us to work with.
More about this, I will post at a later time.
See you at Animecon ! ;)
P.S: At another note, Ryo has moved to Japan to work for a company there, with his girlfriend Lindy-chan. Ryu might still going to code on Soramimi source code, but as he is still very busy in getting used in there, it will take some time. We of the karaoke crew wish him and Lindy-chan a happy staying :)

Mental Maniacs and Chibicon 2009
Too much time has passed since we last updated, but here goes.
The past couple of months had us hosting the karaoke at Animecon 2009, just weeks after Kitacon. The venue was still the Theaterhotel in Almelo, but this time we were located next to the lobby, in the former dealer room. With extra space and even some sliding doors to provide much needed cooling to all of you who sang to your heart's content. It also showed us that a one hour queue maximum might not be the best thing out there, but it sure shortens the wait. And it is a bit more fair than people filling up the playlist for the rest of the evening during the first 10 minutes.
Kudos also to Hen3, Kaj and the Strawberry AV crew for the lighting and sound.
After that, we went to Chibicon 2009, at their new venue in Houten.
Although we were a bit apart from the rest of the convention, people did come to see us and the sweet setup that the tech staff had provided. (then again, being in the same room as the cloak room tends to draw people to you)
Karaoke was running non stop from eleven till eight, with a playlist that actually never exceeded the 90 minute mark.
We noted down every song you requested that we didn't have available and hopefully we'll find the time to get them finished for the next big event.

Kitacon 2009 - England
Alright, where do I start.
Oh yah, our band got invited, the reason why we we're in England at all.
The karaoke was arranged by me (Jasper heh), since the rest of the crew was either or too tired, dead, burned out, or they wanted to see some guy after our concert.
So I did the honour to arrange the Karaoke setup.
They first wanted us to set us up in the big hall, which was, not good.
Since the AMV Disco was also a little further ahead with big boombass boxes, it was impossible to sing against that, so they decided to plant us at the gamesroom.
Terrible, since that room only fitted for around 30 people, but the airco was great though.
When the karaoke started up, people joined and they started singing.
Fantastic sight ofcourse, but then more and more people tried to enter the room, and suddenly we had 50 people in a room for 30 people... obviously not good...
So we tried to manage the people, keeping only the people that would going to sing.
This worked, for a few minutes, but it was impossible in the end.
The karaoke kept playing till 1am and then rum (the founder of Kitacon) told us to better quit the Karaoke since it was impossible to maintain it at the current state, and so I agreed.
All by all, the karaoke was fun, but too bad we had to quit too fast.
The Karaoke was only at the saturday evening (I don't know why, cause Karaoke seemed there to be a huge success, next to DDR).
Perhaps next time better, but atleast the people who sung had their joy, and me a little too :)
